Candlelight vigil

Remembering the lost ones in the 2015 earthquake in Nepal.

Kirksville, MO. – On April 29, 2015, Truman State University (TSU) students paid their respect to the victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal. Namaste Nepal, the Nepali student organization in TSU, had organized a candlelight vigil in remembrance of the lives taken by the massive earthquake.

“The devastating magnitude-7.8 earthquake hit Nepal Saturday, killing more than 5,500 people and injuring more than twice that number.” –

Namaste Nepal members with the help of fellow students at TSU having been raising funds to help and support the people who have been affected by the disaster.  Donations boxes are setup in the Multicultural Affairs Center (MAC) building and in the Center of International Students office (Baldwin Hall 129) for the locals. Also, for those who are not able to donate in person can go to and donate online.

The candlelight vigil was also covered by the local TV/news channel ( Please use the link below to watch the video of the coverage.
